Week 4 Final Blog

Knowing that I would have to actually submit an article to a magazine was nerve wracking! I modified the article that I wrote for my writing for publication class and turned it this morning to Transformation Magazine! I read then revised over and over again until nothing was making sense so I stepped back from it for awhile and then read it again later. When I thought it was as close to perfect as possible I submitted it!

I immediately got an email saying that they received the article and will review it and get back to me if they like it. I am nervous and very excited, this is exactly what I wanted to do but I thought I would have had a little more time to work on it… Then again if I had been given a different time frame I may have procrastinated and then I would be in the same position anyway so oh well!

This was a wonderful experience and despite whether or not this article gets published, I will continue to submit various articles anyway. It is a great learning experience and I will be able to figure out what I need to improve upon in the future which is wonderful!

Week 3 10 minute Free Write

Oh geeze I have had to do assignments like this before and there were some strange things that came from the mind of Amanda! I don’t really know what to write about so let me just start by saying that my name is amanda and I am really enjoying this class and I love that I am a student of SWIHA and I cant wait to graduate! Whoo hooo yay that is wonderful. I look forward to starting my business and cant wait to hold my degree it will make me feel very accomplished and like I have the credentials to actually back up the services that I am offering to the public blah blah my husband is still sleeping and it is 11 o clock on Saturday morning which is insane! I don’t know how someone could sleep that long! I got up at 6 thirty this morining in order to finish my homework and I am really looking forward to having a break next week! It is really needed because I was beginning to feel the burn out of school work and it has taken me much longer this week to get my assignments in which I really do not like. I prefer to have them done by Friday night that way I can have the weekend to myself. This week my goal is to clean my house really well, catch up on laundry and hopefully make some quality meals for my family instead of crap made from a box. I am hoping to catch up on some much needed sleep and especially read! I have some wonderful books that I am trying to read but I don’t really have the time. When I went to las vegas two weeks ago I started ready Patricia Corie’s starseed books whos names excape me but I read atlantis rising and I am in the beginning of no more secrets no more lies and I feel like the content is SO pertinent and I need to get them read before Christmas of this year if for no other reason than that is a a personal goal that I have set. I am hoping I will get one book finished this next week and then another one over thanksgiving break which remeinds me do we get a break from school? I certainly hope that we do but because we are getting one next week it really makes me wonder ok only one more minute to go and then I don’t have to write what comes to my mind any longer ps I wrote a children’s book that I would really like to get into the hands of a literary agent so it is nice that we have this writing for publication class because it remeinded me that I can submit some articles to a magazine or two and I can be considered published. The only problem is that now I really have to research childrens magazines and to be honest they don’t really interest me so I may actually have to self publish this one. This reminds me of a really cool commercial that I watched of this dad that wrote a book for his son and no one wanted it so he published it himself and then everyone under the sun wanted it and he became really famous for it but the only person that mattered was that he was able to share it with his son. That’s how I feel about my beautiful daughter Adriana morrigan she is so wonderful and sweet I am truly blessed to have –Well I just looked at the clock and I guess I am doing the 10 minute version since I just passed the 7 minute goal wow I had a lot more to say than I thought anyway where was I yes I have a wonderful husnband who I love dearly and a daughter that I adore and that is the end of my time!!!

Creative Writing Week 2

Inspiration is a beautiful muse that can come from anywhere in the blink of an eye and leave just as quickly.

She penetrates effortlessly through thoughts and steals your attention until you are utterly hers alone.

Whether you are admiring a breathtaking scene or gyrating to a favorite song, inspiration has the ability to possess all that encompasses you, strictly for her own agenda.

She comes into our lives with exquisite gratification yet she is a finicky bitch who has the ability to dissipate all too quickly and at times leaves you unsatisfied.

Where do you seek inspiration in your daily life?

Inspiration is all around us.

It can be found everywhere and nowhere all at the same time.

I get mine when I focus my attention on a project and ask “the light to shine through me.” Sometimes it works and other times I am disappointed by the contents but somehow, it is always worth the effort.

How can you apply that inspiration to your writing?

I think that I have the ability to approach writing from a place of love.

It is imperative for me not to dwell on the negative aspects that may come along with the process, so that it does not impair my abilities.

By doing so, writing becomes natural and fairly effortless.

The progression itself can be an alluring endeavor that I readily ask for and encourage the arrival of.

Does your inspiration guide your writing style?

My inspiration guides my writing style by giving it a voice to be heard and wings to fly. It rides on the back of a gallant steed ever picking up pace, gaining speed so that my fingers fumble tirelessly in order to catch up and scribe the divinely inspired works that have been revealed to me.

Does your writing style block your inspiration?

My writing style certainly has the capability to block my inspiration at times. I have a distinct voice and enjoy a certain finesse my writing tends encompass. This can get in the way of just allowing the creativity to flow through me and instead acts as a barrier, which dams the stream of revelations from spilling its contents onto the paper before me.

Life Coaching

What is Life Coaching?

Life-coaching is a joint process between client and coach which helps an individual to look at where they are right now in their lives and where they would like to be, then a way to “bridge the gap” is developed in order to accomplish this.

Different techniques and exercises are used in order to raise awareness and encourage the client to take the action needed in order to attain their desired goal.

Vision/Mission Statement

Vision Statement:

By using positive thinking and connecting with your own higher-consciousness, it is possible to manifest anything that the heart may desire.

Mission Statement:

My intent is to provide as safe and encouraging space for client’s to actively achieve their own goals, no matter how big or small they might be.

My philosophy is simple:

It is not my job to judge, or change anyone, but rather to help them to organize thoughts, design ways to achieve their desired outcome and most of all, be a support system throughout the entire process.

I use various techniques in order guide and promote positive reinforcement to succeed. I listen with an open heart, mind and with the strictest of confidence.

*All that is expected of a client is to come with an open mind and genuinely want to succeed in achieving their goals.
